'Grandpa Ott' morning glory-- once you have this vine, you have it forever. At least, they are prolific self-sowers in our garden. This one came up as a volunteer thrown from a vine grown a year or two ago. In our garden, this variety always seem to start flowering much earlier than the 'Heavenly Blue', which tends to be a late bloomer.
Mexican bush sage (Salvia leucantha) feels like it's getting off to a slow start, this year. Maybe I'm imagining it. The same thing goes for the 'Pizzazz Purple' variety in the garden, only it's even further behind.
I no longer remember which is which of these green-leaved cannas. It doesn't help that some came from an unspecified mix... Probably dwarf vareities. This one blooms (mostly) red:
While this one is yellow:
Bog sage (Salvia uliginosa). I've written a lot about this one before, I think... I really love this plant for its height, its vigor, its willowy form, and its beautiful truly blue flowers (a rarity among the flowers I've been able to grow). Here's an early spire of flowers just about to open. (Since I'm still behind on photos, it's been blooming for at least a couple of weeks, now. The bees love it.)
'Daisy' gardenia:
Dragonfly
'Russian Red' canna is by far my favorite of the cannas I've tried to grow, so far. It gets taller, looks more dramatic, and seems healthier and happier than the others. (Maybe the others need to be moved to different places...)
Jungly garden...
Strawberry begonia:
I think this is some sort of long-horned beetle (?) on the yarrow:
False indigo:
Onion chives:
Japanese shrub mint ('Golden Angel'):
Sweet William:
Succulents:
